Former Chemistry student wins Unilever Research award

Amos Rosenthal, former student of the Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, will receive the Unilever Research award on the 7th of December. Annually, 13 students from all scientific disciplines receive this award for outstanding scientific research.

Rosenthal passed his Bsc Chemistry and Msc Molecular Design, Synthesis and Catalysis degree with credit. In 2004 he won a bronze medal at the international Chemistry Olympiad and was selected to join the Lindau meeting for Nobel prize winners 2009 in the discipline of Chemistry.
Rosenthal performed his research in the group of prof. dr. K. Lammertsma at the VU University in Amsterdam. He also did a research project in the group of prof. dr. G. Bertrand at the university of California in Riverside (USA). At present, he starts his PhD at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zürich, Swiss. The Unilever Research award (2500 euro) will be presented on the 7th of December.
